Brussels, 17 Dec 2002
The first calls for the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) will be published on 17 December. Three calls will be opened under the 'integrating the European Research Area [ERA]', 'structuring the ERA' and 'Euratom' specific programmes. Each of them encompasses a number of calls: a total of 49 funding opportunities in all.
CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is paving the way and has already provided a comprehensive list of the forthcoming calls in the FP6 Calls service. Users are able to have a quick overview of the calls, with access to key information such as budget, time frame and potential restrictions as well as the relevant instruments.
As of 17 December, the service will offer direct access to key documents - the call texts, work programmes, guide for proposers and further explanations on FP6. The documents will be downloadable and/or sent directly by e-mail. In addition, users will have quick access to search features to identify partners interested in the same topics and local National Contact Points. Further information will thereafter be added to help potential participants review available funding opportunities and planned calls as well as a direct link to the online submission tool.
The Calls service will be a central to following new openings and obtaining timely information and key downloadable documents. Considering the large number of calls and the huge interest expressed in the funding opportunities, CORDIS kindly asks its users to be patient while downloading information in the wake of the first calls.
All call announcements published on 17 December will be gathered in the first edition of CORDIS focus in 2003. http://www.cordis.lu/fp6/calls
