Merger put in doubt

Thames Valley University's plans to merge with Reading College in September have stalled over fears about the effect on neighbouring further education colleges. Peter Holland of the Berkshire Learning and Skills Council's Reading team said: "We need to be clear about the benefits that might arise, so we can put together a consultation that can allow people to contribute to the discussion."
