A new Internet service to showcase innovative French technologies has been launched by the French scientific innovation and transfer company (FIST).
FIST is an affiliate of the French national research centre (CNRS) and the national agency for innovation (ANVAR). With this new service, it hopes to develop an international partnership between small and medium sized businesses, industrialists, investors and shareholders of start-up firms.
The web service contains a technology portfolio area where interested players can find a vast quantity of innovative technologies to licence. Such portfolios can be selected by category or by using relevant keywords.
The description of each technology specifies the laboratory of origin, the associated technologies, the procedure for obtaining patents and licenses already granted.
Innovative technology owners can request help in marketing their innovations via the service.
The service also provides users with the opportunity to sign up for an electronic newsletter containing technology portfolio updates. Users can then request a secrecy agreement and any additional information about the technologies that they have chosen.
It is hoped that such an initiative will improve the visibility of French research results and encourage technology transfer within companies in the long run.
