The scientific and technological options assessment unit of the European Parliament (STOA) is holding its first annual lecture, entitled 'risks and opportunities in the biotechnology era', on 25 March in Brussels.
The event will take place under the patronage of Pat Cox, President of the European Parliament, and is organised by Nobel Laureate Professor Kary Mullis.
Also present at the event will be STOA Chairman, Professor Antonios Trakatellis MEP, STOA Vice-Chair Eryl McNally MEP, and Dr Peter Stern, Senior Editor of Science magazine.
The event is open to members of the European Parliament and staff, officials of the European Commission and other institutions, press, representatives of the European academies science advisory council, and others.
