A workshop entitled 'the next steps in exploring deep space' will take place in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, on 22 and 23 September.
The workshop builds on a study of the same name and will discuss a vision for the scientific exploration of space by humans in the first half of the 21st Century. The aim is to provide a roadmap for a systematic, logical and science-driven plan for the exploration of the solar system and the unlocking of the mysteries of the Universe.
Specific topics to be addressed at the conference are:
- the future of astronomy and fundamental physics from space;
- the future of solar system exploration science;
- technology and human aspects;
- rationale for exploration, models for the future;
- architectures for the next steps in deep space;
