Technicians at Warwick University may find themselves left off Germaine Greer's Christmas card list this year.
Callers to her office are greeted by a terse voicemail message from the professor of comparative literature announcing that messages are "so distorted" when played back that she cannot understand a word anyone says. The only way to communicate with her is by sending a fax to her personal assistant who, Greer points out, is not even employed by the university.
