The European conference on marine science and ocean technology, EurOCEAN, will take place in Galway, Ireland, from 10 to 13 May 2004.
The event will focus on marine research and sustainable marine resource management. Opportunities under the EU's Sixth Framework Programme will also be explored.
Guest speakers will address how best to communicate the importance, excitement and value of marine science, while the focus of individual sessions will include ecosystems and biodiversity, forecasting and transport research, and marine exploration. Marie Curie Fellows from around Europe will also be present to share their experiences and predictions for the future.
