The Romanian ministry of education, research and youth, with support from the EU, is organising a seminar on intellectual property rights for biotechnology in Bucharest on 12 December.
The event is aimed at Romanian scientists seeking to apply in practice the principles of EU Directive 44/98 on the legal protection of biotechnological inventions.
The programme of the seminar includes:
- biotechnological inventions as a subject of intellectual property rights;
- presentation of EU Directive 44/98 , the TRIPS agreement and Budapest Treaty and practical guides;
- a bioethical debate about patenting of life sciences;
- case studies based on problems raised by IPR of micro organisms, plants and animals.
