Hundreds of cash-strapped students will profit from gambling this summer - not as punters but as bookies. A study by the Royal Bank of Scotland has found that about 1,500 university students plan to get summer jobs as bookmakers, which they see as a short-term money-spinner. Students in Nottingham, Dundee and Aberdeen were particularly keen on turf accountancy, the study found. Overall, eight out of ten students intend to work this summer. Their total earnings will be in the region of £1 billion, according to the bank.
