Mathematics graduates will be given an extra £2,000 if they train to become teachers as part of a raft of measures unveiled this week in the Government's response to Adrian Smith's report on falling standards in maths education. The cash will be paid on top of the £11,000 teachers in shortage subjects already receive in bursaries and "golden hello" payments.
