The European Commission has launched a new website providing information on the ongoing efforts to identify thematic research priorities for its proposals for the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
The site outlines the three criteria that are being used to identify FP7 priorities: contribution to EU policy objectives; European research potential; and European added value. In addition, it provides information on how interested parties can contribute to the debate, either via the various ongoing thematic fora, or by submitting a comments form for those suggestions that fall outside current thematic activities.
Ultimately, the Commission wishes to identify those thematic areas that should continue from the Sixth Framework Programme, as well as new and emerging areas (including the two new areas of space and security which are contained in the Commission's communication).
Please note that the Commission is not seeking views on detailed research topics for calls for proposals. Consolidated contributions that represent the views of a number of institutions and/or individuals would be particularly welcome.
