Scots big on business

Almost a quarter of students who graduated from Scottish higher education institutions in 2002-03 studied business administration. The next highest shares, according to the latest figures from the Scottish Executive, were 11 per cent in social studies and 11 per cent in subjects allied to medicine.

Forty-six per cent of female graduates and 38 per cent of males entered full-time employment in the UK, with 29 per cent of males and 23 per cent of females continuing their studies. Five per cent of female and 9 per cent of male graduates were thought to be unemployed.
