Middlesex University is looking for someone to spearhead an international marketing strategy geared to driving up recruitment of overseas students.

The university is advertising in this week's Times Higher for a director of marketing to take control of its international brief. The post comes with a £60,000 salary. Middlesex also advertised a number of other posts this week.

Marie Owens, director of communications, said Middlesex was seeking someone who could consolidate the changes to its brand made last year and craft a marketing strategy that raises overseas student recruitment.

"If we wish to maintain the size of the university, we need to recruit abroad," Ms Owens said. "It's a fully corporate strategic role. This person will help us with strategy and leadership and add that expertise to the brew."

Middlesex has campuses in Dubai and 16 overseas offices. Ms Owens said the post combined "true marketing knowledge, market experience, product knowledge and rolling out a brand that is Middlesex across the world".

The university is also seeking a director of curriculum, learning and quality in the School of Computer Science; a lecturer or senior lecturer in illustration; a lecturer or senior lecturer in graphic design, electronic and digital media; a senior research fellow in English literature and culture; and a reader in dance studies.
