关于 Yamagata University
Yamagata University was officially founded in 1949 as a publicly-operated national university in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan.
The university currently operates 4 separate campuses across Yamagata prefecture, 2 of which are based in the city of Yamagata.
The university campuses provide accommodation for undergraduate and some postgraduate students, as well as modern academic and recreational facilities. In addition to those services provided by the university itself, many students will be able to enjoy the sights and sounds of the city of Yamagata.
Yamagata is known for its mountainous terrain, fruits and hot springs, and Yamagata Prefecture is known as the ‘orchard kingdom’ as a result.
The 2 university campuses not located in Yamagata city are instead located in the cities of Yonezawa and Tsuruoka, both of which are major cities within Yamagata Prefecture.
The university also operates a ‘satellite’ centre in Tokyo, 300 miles north of Yamagata. In terms of academic offerings, the university has over 40 undergraduate majors, arranged into 6 faculties, across a wide variety of different disciplines.
As well as this, Yamagata University also offers almost as many post-graduate degrees for students looking to expand their education even further, as well as having notable research facilities including an astronomical observatory. Over the years, Yamagata University has produced a number of famous alumni, including the actor Mikio Narita as well as the musician Michiro Endo.
