Higher's hopes

The Times Higher dominates the shortlist for the first Education Journalist of the Year Awards. John O'Leary, the editor, has been nominated for the sustained contribution to education journalism award. Three Times Higher reporters are vying for the outstanding education reporting award.

Phil Baty is nominated for an expose of university admissions fraud; Anna Fazackerley for animal-rights extremism reports; and Paul Hill for an interview with Laura Spence. Winners of the awards, run by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations' Education Sector Group and sponsored by Communications Management, will be announced on November 10.
