Fears about the literacy of undergraduates hit a new trough last week when the National Union of Students sent out an invitation to the opening of its surprisingly glossy new building. While academics moulder in dingy common rooms, students will get to hang out in the sort of trendy London warehouse where one expects media people to sit on beanbags loudly exchanging jargon about the internet. They have even managed to lure MP "Tony Ben" along to open it. That is, until he realises they can't spell his name.
