Scientists may traditionally have been seen as a rather nerdy bunch who wouldn't recognise their libido if they tripped over it in the lab. But times are changing. At this summer's Royal Society of Chemistry soiree - usually a very civilised bash at the Royal Academy - the emphasis was very much on sex. No one batted an eyelid when the RSC president and Viagra inventor greeted the creator of the contraceptive pill in front of the bad boy of art Damien Hirst's statue of the Virgin Mother. Who said academia isn't racy?
