OU innovator moves

David Wield, professor of innovation and development at the Open University, will next autumn become director of the life sciences research group Innogen, which has secured its future with a five-year, £5 million grant from the Economic and Social Research Council.

Professor Wield, Innogen's co-director, will leave Milton Keynes for Edinburgh Univer-sity to take over from founding director Joyce Tait, who stays on as scientific adviser.
