As the high cost of higher education in the UK becomes "notorious", overseas students are becoming increasingly focused on getting an acceptable return on their investment, a new report says.
The Higher Education Academy study, Responding to the Internationalisation Agenda: Implications for Institutional Strategy and Practice , says that although most overseas students are satisfied with their experience overall, the quality of teaching and the course content, they are less satisfied in terms of value for money.
The report, which examines universities' internationalisation strategies and their responses to global competition for students, says that more attention needs to be given to the quality and relevance of the education provided and to satisfying the expectations of overseas students.
