Coronary heart disease is the biggest single cause of death in the UK, causing one in five deaths in men and one in six in women; almost all of the deaths are due to a heart attack. A leading UK heart expert will speak on September 18 at a public lecture at Bristol University about the causes and prevention of heart attacks. Andrew Newby, professor of vascular cell biology at the university’s Bristol Heart Institute, will explore the cause for the near-death at Bristol International Airport of explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes.
