A new wildlife documentary course at the University of Salford will be the first of its kind in Europe. Among the teachers on the postgraduate course will be Paul Reddish, a BBC producer who has worked with David Attenborough. Students will team up with zoological staff, and learn about the theory of documentary making, long-lens camera skills and conservation law. John Mundy, head of music, media and performance at Salford, said: "Given the UK's pre-eminence in wildlife film and television production, we were surprised that there was so little opportunity for students to train in this area."
