Plans for a £200 million campus modernisation programme have been unveiled by Newcastle University. A 14-page brochure, Creating a Campus for the Future, sets out the university's plans to revamp its 50-acre city-centre estate between now and 2010. Construction work that will change the campus perimeter is due to begin in the next few weeks. Work is also set to start on a new £35 million student and administrative services building. The five-storey, glass-fronted block will house all the main student services, as well as a visitor centre.
