Leeds United Ladies FC, who last season finished third in the Women's Premier League and were runners-up in the Women's FA Cup final, have strengthened their partnership with Leeds Metropolitan University. Not only have the team have changed their name to Leeds Carnegie Ladies FC, after the university's Carnegie sports faculty, they will also benefit from extra resources on and off the field, including a full-time football administrator who will be based at the university. Peter Rodgers, dean of sporting partnerships at Leeds Met, said: "The city deserves a football club that wants to win honours and challenge Arsenal, Everton and Chelsea, week in, week out."
