Robert Pearce has left his job as vice-chancellor of the University of Wales, Lampeter. Professor Pearce was appointed vice-chancellor in October 2003. Gwyndaf Tobias, the director of finances who is now acting vice-chancellor, said Professor Pearce had retired.
