Egas Moniz - Cooperativa de Ensino Superior, CRL was established in 2010. It aims to integrate research, higher education and health services.

There are eight undergraduate degree programmes available for students: nutrition sciences, psychology, forensic and criminal sciences, biomedical sciences, nursing, physiotherapy, nursing, dental prothesis, and veterinary nursing.

The university offers four programmes at master’s level: clinical analysis, clinical nutrition, forensic and criminal psychology, and laboratory technologies in forensic sciences. The only doctoral degree programme on offer is in biomedical sciences. There are also a range of integrated master’s and technical higher professional courses on offer.

Egas Moniz has two clinics, the dental clinic and the university clinic. Both facilitate the application of specialised knowledge and research associated with the university’s higher education courses. The clinics provide services and treatment to the local community at affordable prices in the areas of oral health care, nutrition, physiotherapy, psychology, audiology, and speech therapy.

It has developed partnerships with other universities around the world in countries including France, Brazil, Spain, Germany, and the UK. These partnerships facilitate academic and scientific exchanges, as well as student exchange programmes which give students the opportunity to study abroad for one or two semesters.
