关于 Université d’Oran 2 Mohamed Ben Ahmed

Université d’Oran 2 Mohammed Ben Ahmed was founded in 2014 but its history dates back to 1967 when the Oran University was established.

The university is named after Mohammed Ben Ahmed, who was known as Major Si Musa. He was the commander of the Algerian-Tunisian Border and in 1960 he was appointed to organise the National Liberation Army.

The university is located in Oran, a city in northwest Algeria.

The university is divided into five academic faculties: the faculty of foreign languages, faculty of law and political science, faculty of social sciences, faculty of economic sciences, commercial sciences and management sciences, and the faculty of earth and universe sciences. Each faculty is also subdivided into departments, which offer a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.

There is also the Institute of Maintenance and Industrial Safety, which consists of three departments: instrumentation maintenance, electromechanical maintenance, and industrial safety and the environment.

The Vice-Rectorate of External Relations, Cooperation, Animation, Communication and Scientific Events is responsible for the university’s international activity. The university has developed partnerships with higher education institutions around the world to facilitate academic and scientific exchanges. These institutions are in countries such as France, Spain, Ukraine, Romania, Morocco, Turkey and Tunisia.
