Scottish researchers want to see if the traditional breakfast dish of porridge could be a lifesaver. The Scottish Government's Chief Scientist Office is funding a £200,000 study into whether oats can improve diabetes control and reduce the inflammatory side-effects of type-2 diabetes. Sandra MacRury, clinical professor at the UHI Millennium Institute, is leading the study, which also involves researchers at the University of Aberdeen.
