关于 École Nationale Supérieure Agronomique
Rooted in the school of agriculture established in Rouiba in 1880, École Nationale Supérieure Agronomique's foundation dates back to 1905 when it relocated to its current home at Cinq Maisons (now El Harrach), approximately 10 miles outside Algiers.
École Nationale Supérieure Agronomique is known as a hub of highly qualified human resources, with dedicated students and doctoral candidates eager to contribute to Algeria's development. Many members of the university actively advise the national government in shaping strategies for the cereals sector.
In 2021, they had approximately 1,200 students, with around half at the preparatory stage and over 100 pursuing postgraduate studies. The majority of students are female. In 2022, new courses were introduced, including a masters in precision agricultural engineering. Students also participate in a 'micro-farm' project competition and an annual fair showcasing the culture and traditions of various Algerian communities.
The university’s academic departments cover a wide range of disciplines, including agricultural engineering, agricultural production, animal production, botany, food technology, forestry, plant production, rural economics, soil science, and preparatory education. The Algerian Annals of Agronomy (3As) journal has been in publication since 1939.
École Nationale Supérieure Agronomique has established approximately 50 partnerships with institutions and organizations within Algeria and around 20 international agreements. Notably, they have a collaboration with Wageningen Plant Research in the Netherlands to develop smart greenhouses for market gardening.
