Inoculating children against flu may be the most effective way to use limited vaccine supplies, according to research carried out at the University of Warwick. The study suggests that vaccinating children, alongside other preventive measures, may offer the best way to control the spread of pandemics. Using computer modelling techniques, the researchers found that although flu, including swine flu, is more likely to spread in densely populated areas, vaccinating whole households may be an inefficient use of the vaccine.
