A university has launched a new Twitter profile that aims to help would-be students who have fallen short of their expected grades to find a place to study. Thames Valley University's Clearing Guru will be on hand throughout the summer, tweeting advice and tips for those who need to navigate clearing - the national system that helps people find vacancies on higher education courses. The service will also be able to answer questions and regular updates will be posted on the places still available on Thames Valley courses.
