Canterbury Christ Church University has been given the right to award research degrees by the Privy Council. The university has been enrolling research students for 25 years, but until now its degrees have been awarded by the University of Kent. Jan Druker, senior pro vice-chancellor at the university, commented: "We are delighted to have received the message from the Privy Council indicating that we have been granted the power to award research degrees."
