The Centre for Humanities and Health has opened at King's College London, bringing together specialists from the fields of literature, philosophy, film studies, history and health. The centre will foster the development of a new MSc programme in medical humanities, which will draw upon the wide-ranging expertise of its members. Brian Hurwitz, founding director of the centre, said: "The programme envisaged is multidisciplinary and diverse ... and will contribute to understanding the subjective, inner experience of illness and the personal and cultural representations of health and illness."
