A donation from an e-tourism pioneer has enabled Bournemouth University to open a new centre for the study of tourism. The John Kent Institute in Tourism was established with a donation from the creator and head of www.Youtravel.com, after whom it is named. Paul Curran, Bournemouth's vice-chancellor, said the institute would fund a "considerable number" of PhDs in tourism research. Earlier this month, Mr Kent was named a visiting fellow of the university.
