A planned £37.6 million university building has been welcomed as an addition to Liverpool that will make the city "a more attractive place". Liverpool John Moores University has been granted planning permission for a six-storey building on its Clarence Street site, which will house the faculty of business and law, the Screen School and a new Professional Centre, as well as three large lecture theatres. Michael Brown, vice-chancellor, said the decision to build it is part of the university's mission to "advance the renewal and regeneration of Liverpool by driving up its competitiveness and making the city a more attractive place".
