Cricketers from the University of Cambridge flew to India last week for their first tour of the country. The trip was arranged to coincide with a visit by Alison Richard, the vice-chancellor, who led a delegation to India to strengthen the university's links with the country. The 14-strong Cambridge University Cricket Club was set to play two matches in Delhi and four in Mumbai on its ten-day tour, with Professor Richard due to attend two games. The team were to play at three of the most prestigious grounds in the country - the Bombay Gymkhana, the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai and the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.
