A concentration camp survivor who was hidden by friends close to Anne Frank's house was due to give the University of Wolverhampton's annual Holocaust lecture this week. Martin Stern was set to give the lecture, "Do we understand the lessons?", ahead of Holocaust Memorial Day on January. It was organised by Johannes-Dieter Steinert, professor of modern European history and migration studies, and Karin Dannehl, a research assistant. Dr Dannehl said: "Testimony from those who suffered as children is also an opportunity for us to understand how the experience affected them later in life."
