Britain's first MA in contemporary Muslim studies is to be launched later this year. Liverpool Hope University said that the course, which is due to start in September, matches up with an area of strategic importance for the Higher Education Funding Council for England. The master's course was created by Ron Geaves, professor of the comparative study of religions, and includes areas of interest to young Muslims, including Islamic business and finance. It is also aimed at students whose careers may bring them into contact with Muslim cultures.
