The inaugural cohort of UK chemistry students sitting Eurobachelor degrees will graduate from Nottingham Trent University this summer. It became the first UK university to be permitted to award the degrees in 2006. The Eurobachelor qualifications meet criteria agreed by European institutions, including a requirement that students attain proficiency in a second major European language. Roger Eccleston, dean of the School of Science and Technology, said the university was offering the degree in recognition of the role Europe could play in furthering the careers of its graduates.
