Two academics are planning to spend a month living off food and drink produced within 1.5 miles of their home. Husband-and-wife team Richard Jones, lecturer in landscape history at the University of Leicester, and Naomi Sykes, lecturer in the department of archaeology at the University of Nottingham, will grow some of their food and source the rest from their village. "In the modern era of globalisation, in which our food travels halfway around the world, we want to discover if it is still possible to live entirely from within a local community," Dr Jones said.
