A university has joined forces with a computer company to launch a degree that both organisations hope will boost graduate employability in the industry. As part of the collaboration between the University of the West of England and Hewlett-Packard, students on the four-year course, provisionally titled the UWE HP enterprise computing degree, will undertake internships at the firm or one of its partners. In a separate initiative, HP is also helping the institution to build a centre with virtual-learning tools so that students in areas such as law and medicine can practise "real-life" scenarios.
