Reducing discrimination against Roma people is the aim of a new European project. The University of Salford is a partner in the European Union-funded research, led by Leeds City Council, which will examine the ways Roma are discriminated against in health, education and employment across Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Spain and the UK. Peter Dwyer, professor of social policy at Salford's Centre for Social Justice Research, said: "We hope to help overcome discrimination and enable Roma people to integrate more into the societies in which they live."
