The architect behind the design of the new World Trade Center site in New York has been tasked with designing a landmark building in the UK to house an international institute working towards democracy and conflict resolution around the globe. Daniel Libeskind's multimillion-pound building at the University of Essex will provide facilities for research, lectures, seminars and consultancy activities, as well as including a moot court. The centre will also provide space for organisations ranging from policy institutes to law firms and non-governmental organisations to collaborate with academics.
