Welsh scientists are working on a new sensor designed to detect airborne explosives, narcotics and chemical and biological agents that will be tested in airports. The researchers are based at Bangor University's School of Chemistry and form part of a European consortium called Nanosecure. The system, fitted into air-conditioning units, will also be able to decontaminate the air, ridding it of chemical pollutants.
