An investigative reporter has donated much of his archive to a London university. Material from Phillip Knightley's investigations into war reporting and the role of propaganda, including letters and interviews with the leading war correspondents of the 20th and 21st centuries, will be stored at the London College of Communication. As well as his investigative reporting, Mr Knightley has written books on espionage, propaganda and war, and has met the spy chiefs of most of the world's major intelligence services. Paul Charman, head of journalism at the college, said the author was "probably the greatest living expert on the history of war reporting".
