Edna Longley's review of R. F. Foster's W. B. Yeats: A Life ( THES , March 28) should have read that the ambiguities of Yeats's "Easter 1916" "may pivot onwhat was indeed 'most bitter wrong/To some who are near my heart'" ("needed" was substituted for "indeed").
