ALSISS. The Association of Learned Societies in the Social Sciences has elected Tony Chapman, chair of psychology at the University of Leeds, as president.
CVCP. Martin Harris, vice chancellor of the University of Manchester, and David Melville, vice chancellor of Middlesex University, have been elected to serve as vice chairmen of the Committee of Vice Chancellors and Principals for 1995/96 and 1996/97.
UNIVERSITY OF HULL. Patrick Cormack, Conservative MP for Staffordshire South, has been appointed visiting scholar in the university's centre for legislative studies.
UNIVERSITY OF STIRLING. Kevin Clarke, deputy secretary at the university, has been appointed secretary from September 1, 1995. He will succeed Robert Bomont.
