Access at the Octagon

Graduates of Staffordshire University will soon be able to tap into the Internet at budget rates with the help of their alumni association.

Association members already have ready access to the university's extensive computing facilities.

But they are now being offered the chance to access the net through a series of dedicated modems being installed at the university's Octagon computer centre.

Graduates are being sent the Mosaic software which which allow them to access the net.

The university has agreed to act as service provider for the scheme which will save members the usual monthly subscription cost of between Pounds 10 Pounds 15 for a basic commercial service.
