The Art Institute of Seattle in Seattle, Washington, US, was founded in 1946. It is part of The Art Institutes - a system of more than 50 educational institutions teaching design, media arts, fashion and culinary arts across the US, from Sacramento and San Diego in California to Chicago, Indianapolis and Michigan, and in Vancouver, Canada, and which was created in 1969. Originally known as the Burnley School for Professional Art, The Art Institute of Seattle took its current name in 1982.

Courses offered are divided by subject area, and include Visual Design (graphic and web design, web design and interactive media), Interior and Product Design (industrial design, interior design), Animation and Effects (media arts and animation, visual effects and motion graphics), Film and Production (audio production, digital filmmaking and video production, digital photography), Gaming and Technology (game art and design, visual and game programming), Fashion (fashion design, fashion marketing and management) and Culinary (baking and pastry, culinary arts, culinary management).

The Art Institute of Seattle is situated near the Elliott Bay waterfront in downtown Seattle, neighbouring the city's design studios, restaurants and corporate offices.
