Founded in 1920 as Marion College, Indiana Wesleyan University is a Christian comprehensive university of The Wesleyan Church set in a 350 acre, modern and residential campus in Marion, Indiana, an hour from Fort Wayne and Indianapolis.

Nearly 16,000 students are enrolled at IWU. Undergraduates can choose from over 80 liberal arts and traditional courses from accounting to writing and visual arts education to biology. Some 38 master's degrees are available across business, counselling, criminal justice, education, health sciences, leadership, nursing, psychology and social work and five doctorates over business, health sciences, nursing, leadership, and Wesley Seminary.

Since 1985, Indiana Wesleyan has run an adult education program. It attracts over 10,000 adult learners across education centres in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio, and also online.

Another facet of IWU’s offering is the Ott Hall of Sciences and Nursing, opened in 2014. This 111,250 square foot health sciences building provides students with expanded state-of-the-art teaching laboratories, research laboratories and student interaction areas.

Students at IWU represent more than 80 Christian denominations and nationalities over 10 foreign countries.

As well as the spiritual activities on offer to students through various chapels and organisations, there’s a selection of Intramural sports for all genders including: luau sand volleyball; flag football; outdoor soccer; volleyball; basketball; inner tube water polo; swim meet; volleyball; indoor soccer and racquetball. IWU has a very strong music tradition with its celebrated touring choir, University Chorale. Other ensembles at IWU include University Singers, University Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, One Voice, His Instrument, and Master's Praise.

Notable IWU alumni include a diverse selection of people from Ghanian Member of Parliament Joseph Kofi Adda to LA Dodgers pitcher Brandon Beachy. Others include author Laurell K. Hamilton and Ghasson Hitto, former opposition Prime Minister of Syria.

Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules. Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs Job Requirements A good degree with a major in Electronics Engineering or a related field. Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications would be advantageous. Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in development / R&D or related areas in electronics (Digital / Analog / Consumer / Embedded Systems) would be preferred. Experience in following areas is highly desirable: Hands-on experience with both analogues and digital electronics Hands-on experience in developing, implementing applications, principles and programming in areas of embedded systems, IoT/IIoT, control systems, etc. Design of circuit schematics for layouts and development with both active and passive components, incl. knowledge of PCB routing, fabrication and prevalent IPC standards. Hands-on competency in testing and designing electronic circuits and integrating circuits and their systems Advantageous to have prior knowledge in areas such as: Microcontroller programming (C/C++, Python, LabView) and firmware development. Working experience with IoT, data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc. Working experience with various development boards systems like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Intel development boards, etc Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge of industry practices and engineering principles to bring industry perspective to SIT. Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage

Our faculty collaborates closely with industry on translational research and innovation with focus on addressing pertinent industry challenges to impact businesses.  The Singapore Teaching and Academic Research Talent (START) Scheme is co-funded by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and SIT to encourage and support outstanding young Singaporeans interested in pursuing an academic career at SIT. The Overseas PhD Scholarship aims to attract and encourage outstanding graduates and industry professionals to pursue an academic career at SIT by providing financial support for an overseas PhD, as well as academic guidance and mentorship. The scholarship may be awarded to applicants who have just completed their undergraduate studies; or  have completed a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s programme and/or have worked for some years; or  are currently enrolled in a PhD programme overseas Upon successful completion of the PhD programme, the scholar will be considered to join SIT’s faculty as an Assistant Professor. Eligibility and Selection Criteria Singapore citizen   Second upper-class honours degree, or equivalent, relevant to the supported fields of study listed below   Three years of working experience in the industry preferred (For Health Sciences, at least five years of relevant experience preferred) Strong passion for teaching and research Value of Scholarship The scholarship provides  Full tuition and compulsory fees  Monthly stipend  Overseas maintenance allowance  Return economy airfares  Conference and fieldwork grants  Overseas medical insurance Scholars will also each be assigned a faculty mentor throughout their course of study and have opportunities to participate in faculty development programmes.  The scholarship is tenable for a period of five years. Service Commitment 5 years in SIT after completion of PhD studies. Mid-term awardees will have a service commitment of 1 year for every year of sponsorship. Application Process Applications are open throughout the year. Applications received before 15 January 2026 will be considered for the 2026 intake.   Interview by the respective clusters for shortlisted applicants will be conducted throughout the year.   Final Interview by the Panel for shortlisted applicants for the 2026 intake will commence in Mid-March to End April 2026.   Awards will be finalised by July 2026.

About You You should hold a Master’s Degree.
