Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts

Founded in 1996 by musician Paul McCartney and Mark Featherstone-Witty, Liverpool Institution of Performing Arts, is a renowned institution of higher learning offering a wide range of courses ranging from acting, dance to music technology.

It is popularly referred to as LIPA. The university offers foundation courses, undergraduate and graduate courses in various disciplines.

LIPA, since its founding, has been home to top artists and instead of awarding degrees, the institution awards companionships, which recognises an individuals contributions in the fields of arts and entertainment. The university has partnerships with different industry leaders, studios and companies, while its graduates have bagged several accolades including the prestigious Academy Awards and Grammys. Notable alumni include music producer Jan Burton, director Jamie Lloyd and musician Raghav.

Different events such as pop, rock and jazz concerts are organised every year under the SEB, or Students Events Board. The university also host a wide array of accommodation options including Agnes Jones House, Cathedral Campus, the Lodge, 32 Princes Road, Cambridge court and Liverpool Student Homes. Every semester, the university organises several activities, events and festivals to facilitate the overall growth and development of its student community.
